STATEMENT

Using body image, organic shapes, and elements from my Hmong cultural identity, I seek to foster dialogue centered on what defines and shape self-identity. Self-identity is one’s recognition of their value in relation to social context. Through the examination of photography and videography, I create composites of contour drawings that mimic portraits. Focusing on answering the question, “Who am I?” I observe what makes individuals different from one another. My work explores individuality.
